Really amazing installation by Patrick Saint-Denis, which somewhat reminded me of Anri Sala’s exhibition in the Serpentine Gallery.

But of course, this is way cooler.

3.3 Ways of Working 3D

After gathering enough research, it was time to develop ideas and experiment through different materials and methods. With the materials we brought in on the first day (with some additional), we were instructed to manipulate materials three-dimensionally as the first exercise. After the warm up, we were asked to use inspiration from our site visit to expand on making.

On the second day of the design project, we were taken around some parts of London for further research. My group was assigned to visit Taryn Simon’s exhibition in Tate Modern and then slowly walked from the museum to the millenium bridge, Shakespeare’s Globe Theater, and finally to Borough Market while recording 50 drawings/photographs of similar things. I started out drawing the heads of things - buildings, lamp-posts, umbrellas. However, as I proceeded through the journey, I decided to just sketch whatever that strike out to me as I had to be quick on my feet and hands.

This was one of my favorite pieces done by Richard Long. 
Richard Long was one of the artists that was recommended for our contextual references. I really like his works as he uses natural materials to create his sculptures. His works are truly ‘art made by walking in landscapes.’
